Caribbean shrimp bowl is one of my favourite seafood dishes, and I love making up my recipes. One thing that always gets me excited about creating new recipes is trying to incorporate different flavours and ingredients into shrimp, such as citrus and coconut. I always like to season the shrimp with lime juice and light brown sugar before cooking. Once the shrimp is cooked, you can add in whatever sauces and toppings you like. For example, I want to combine it with fresh pineapple, green onions, avocado, and tomatoes to make it extra creamy. Another one of my favourite shrimp dishes is this Thai shrimp bowl with mango and basil.


Shrimp and noodles are my favourites, along with rice and noodles. This dish is straightforward to make and is accessible on the waistline and budget.

This is a great recipe for using leftovers of shrimp. I love the flavor combination of rice, corn, cheese, and garlic together. Add some fresh tomatoes and this is a wonderful meal for any season.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb. fresh shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tablespoons light soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp. fish sauce
  • 1 tsp. sesame oil
  • ½ tsp. freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 tbsp. honey
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 package (16 oz.) Chinese rice noodles or angel hair pasta
  • 1 (1/4-inch thick) slice ginger
  • 2 bunches green onions, trimmed and sliced lengthwise
  • 3 to 4 cups cooked rice
  • 1 cup chopped cucumber

Instructions
 

Start with the shrimp

  • Remove it from the package and place it in a bowl.
  • Add the soy sauce, lemon juice, garlic, and 1 teaspoon of hot pepper flakes.
  • Mix it all together, cover with plastic wrap and place in the fridge until ready to serve.

Start on the vegetables.

  • Wash and cut the carrots and bell peppers into bite-sized pieces.
  • Remove the broccoli florets from their stems and wash them well.
  • Now, get to work peeling the ginger, if you haven’t already.
