Sausage Pasta Recipe

A quick and easy lunch made using chopped Italian sausages that look like little meatballs! This sauce's flavor is based on the sausages, so get the best you can buy. Look for sausages with little white fat and spice pieces showing. Cheap sausages with a similar pink color should be avoided.

  • 12 ounce pasta
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 16 ounce spicy (Italian) sausage
  • 1 pcs onion (large), chopped
  • 4 pcs cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 (14.5 oz) chicken
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • 1 (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1 (10 oz) frozen chopped spinach (package)
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese


  • A large pan of lightly salted water should be heated to a boil. Cook for 8 to 10 minutes, or until pasta is very cooked; drain and set aside.
  • Heat the oil and sausage in a large pan until they are no longer pink. Add the onion and garlic to the pan during the last 5 minutes of cooking. With the liquid, add the broth, basil, and tomatoes.
  • Cook for 5 minutes over medium heat to gently decrease. Cover pan and cook on low heat until spinach is soft, about 10 minutes.
  • Mix the pasta and the sauce in the pan. Serve warm with a cheese garnish.
