- I use smoked salmon for this recipe. But, if you don’t have it, you can use regular salmon or trout.
- You can also use canned salmon, but I highly recommend using real salmon. It tastes much better than canned salmon.
- Make sure to use good-quality mustard. Some of the cheaper ones taste horrible.
- It is also important to season the salmon with salt and pepper. If you put too much salt in it, it will kill the delicate flavor of the salmon. But the salmon will only have the right flavor if you season it enough.
- I like to use a mix of black pepper and white pepper. The white pepper gives it a more subtle and less spicy kick. But if you want to spice it up, use black pepper.
